Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: anaphora n., -ic suffix.
Etymology: < anaphora n. + -ic suffix. Compare earlier anaphorical adj.Compare post-classical Latin anaphoricus relative (1513 or earlier), Hellenistic Greek ἀναϕορικός (of pronouns) relative, French anaphorique (1877 in grammar). Classical Latin and post-classical Latin anaphoricus and Hellenistic Greek ἀναϕορικός are also used in astronomy (with reference to the rising of the stars) and medicine (in the sense ‘that brings up blood’).

1. Designating a type of prologue written to respond to something or someone. Obsolete. rare.Apparently an isolated use.
