attributive. Designating a Sikh wedding ceremony or marriage. Cf. Anand Karaj n.Marriages conducted by a Sikh officiant and according to Sikh traditions gained legal recognition in India in 1909, with the passage of the Anand Marriage Bill (see quot. 1909). Previously, Sikh marriages had been conducted by a Brahmin and formalized by Hindu rites. See further note at Anand Karaj n.
