Factory Acts
Factory Acts n. (also earlier Factories Acts) now chiefly historical the statutes 42 Geo. III. c. 73 (1802), 3 & 4 Will. IV. c. 103 (1833), and various later acts, passed for the regulation of the working conditions of factory workers, especially women and children; (occasionally in singular) any one of these acts.
