Origin: Formed within English, by derivation; modelled on a Greek lexical item. Etymons: ana- prefix, -graphy comb. form.
Etymology: < ana- prefix + -graphy comb. form, after ancient Greek ἀναγραϕή anagraph n.In recent use perhaps after Italian anagrafia (18th cent. or earlier).
Now rare.
A record, chronicle; an inventory; = anagraph n. Also as a mass noun.
