Etymology: < the name of James Ewing (1866–1943), U.S. pathologist.
Pathology.
Used attributively and in the possessive to designate a rare malignant sarcoma of bone endothelium occurring mainly in childhood and adolescence, described by him in 1921 ( Proc. N.Y. Path. Soc. XXI. 17).
