Etymology: < ethno- comb. form + linguistic adj., originally after Italian etnico-linguistico (1915, in La regione Veneta e le Alpi nostre, dalle fonti dell' Adige al Quarnaro. Carta etnico-linguistica, the title of the map referred to in quot. 1917, or earlier).
(a) Of or relating to ethnicity and language. (b) Of or relating to the relations between linguistic and cultural behaviour.
