Origin: A borrowing from Spanish. Etymon: Spanish entrada.
Etymology: < Spanish entrada act of entering a place (late 12th cent.), (specifically) ceremonial entry into a place (beginning of the 16th cent. or earlier), armed expedition into indigenous territory (early 16th cent.), specific sense developments of entrada entry n.With forms in -ado compare -ado suffix. The α. forms probably show alteration after classical Latin intrāre (see enter v.).
