Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin epistolographia.
Etymology: < post-classical Latin epistolographia letter-writing (1611 or earlier) < Hellenistic Greek ἐπιστολογράϕος letter-writer, secretary (see epistolographer n.) + classical Latin -ia -y suffix3. Compare French épistolographie (1755 or earlier).
Chiefly formal. rare.
