Anatomy.
epipteric bone (also epipteric ossicle): a small Wormian bone sometimes found between the parietal and the great wing of the sphenoid. Also as n. = epipteric bone.

1967 Gray's Anat. (ed. 34) 375 One or more [sutural bones], the pterion ossicles or epiteric [sic] bones, sometimes exist between the sphenoidal angle of the parietal bone and the greater wing of the sphenoid bone.
