Etymology: Partly < amyl n.¹ + -o- connective; partly < amyl n.² + -o- connective.

comb. form of amyl n.¹, in both senses, as:

amylo-cellulose n. a name applied to a supposed constituent of starch granules, which is coloured copper-red by iodine.

2. amylo-methylic adj. of amyl-methyl; as in amylo-methylic ether, also called methyl-amyl ether. So amylovinic ether, also called ethyl-amyl ether; amylonitrous ether, etc.
