Etymology: < the name of J. C. Eno (c1828–1915), English pharmacist, who first sold it.
Pharmacology.
A proprietary name for a laxative and antacid containing sodium bicarbonate, tartaric acid, and citric acid. Also Eno's (Fruit Salt) (also proprietary).
