Etymology: < epi- prefix + cranial adj. In sense 1 after scientific Latin epicranius, adjective (see epicranium n.); compare epicranium n. 2. In sense 2 after epicranium n. 3.
1. Anatomy. Overlying the skull; spec. designating the tendon and muscle forming the epicranium (epicranium n. 2). Also: of or relating to the epicranium.
