1964 Amer. Mineralogist 49 326 Bradley's original composition of AgTe was correct, and it is proposed that the name empressite be retained for this material.

2011 W. L. Pohl Econ. Geol. ii. 221/2 Telluride minerals of silver including hessite (Ag₂Te) and empressite (AgTe) are not a relevant source of the metal.
