释义 | Eboen. A name applied in the West Indies and U.S. to Africans from Benin. The same term as Igbo adj. and n. in West Africa, but used with wider application in the West Indies. Hence attributive eboe-tree n. ( Dipteryx eboensis) a tree of Central America, yielding eboe oil n. a name also given to the oil of a different tree; see quot. 1866.
