Etymology: ultimately < Icelandic æðar-dún: see eider n. and down n.2; the Icelandic word has been adopted as Swedish ejder-dun, Danish eder-duun, German eiderdon, French édredon.Previous versions of the OED give the stress as: ˈeider-down.
