Etymology: < post-classical Latin amobragium (from 13th cent. in British sources) < Anglo-Norman amobres or its etymon Welsh amobr amobr n. + post-classical Latin -agium -age suffix. Compare earlier amobr n. and amobreship n.In β. forms with remodelling of the suffix after -age suffix.
