Etymology: < dunch v. + -er suffix1.In sense 2 apparently so called on account of its resemblance to the flat head of a hornless cow (compare sense 1).
Scottish and Irish English (northern).
1. A cow or sheep that is given to butting. Also (Irish English (northern)): a hornless cow.
