Etymology: < Old French dissurie (14th cent.), modern French dysurie, < Latin dysūria (Coelius), < Greek δυσουρία retention of urine, < *δύσουρος adjective, < δυσ- (dys- prefix) + οὖρον urine.
Pathology.
Difficulty in passing urine; a disorder characterized by difficult or painful urination.
