Originally: an order or division of the Polyzoa ( Bryozoa) having the anus opening outside the lophophore (cf. Entoprocta n.). Later: = Bryozoa n.After the Entoprocta were removed, the taxa Ectoprocta and Polyzoa ( Bryozoa) became effectively synonymous.
