Etymology: < post-classical Latin dulcacidus (4th cent.) < classical Latin dulcis sweet (see dulce adj.) + acidus acid adj. Compare dulcoacid adj., and also earlier aigre-doux adj.
rare.
Sweet and sour in taste. Also figurative. Cf. bittersweet adj.
