1. Characteristic of, or of the nature of, a dream. In early use: illusory, false; insubstantial. Later chiefly: vague, indistinct, unreal, hazy; (of a colour or the eyes) soft, misty; (of music) ethereal, impressionistic. Cf. dreamlike adj.
