Etymology: Chinese (Wade-Giles), duōcái (Pinyin), lit. ‘multi-coloured’, < tou many + ts‘ai colours.
Ceramics.
Used attributively and absol. of a kind of enamel painting on Chinese porcelain, developed in the reign of Ch'êng Hua (1465–87), and of (pieces of) porcelain so decorated.
