Etymology: < drawl v. + -ed suffix1.
Characterized by drawling (in various senses); spoken or articulated slowly using prolonged vowel sounds.Quot. 1656 is unclear but perhaps shows the sense ‘that moves unusually slowly, or in a lazy or loitering manner’(cf. drawl v. 1a).
