Etymology: < aluminize v.1 + -ed suffix1, after French aluminisé (1790 in the passage translated in quot. 1791). Compare earlier aluminated adj.1 and alumed adj.
Now rare.
Treated or impregnated with alum or alumina; containing alum or alumina.
