Origin: Either (i) a borrowing from Latin, combined with an English element. Or (ii) formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: Latin allocare , -ble suffix; allocate v., -able suffix.
Etymology: Either < post-classical Latin allocare allocate v. + -ble suffix, or < alloc- (in allocate v.) + -able suffix.
That may be allocated, in various senses of the verb.
