Etymology: Partly (in early use) < discipline n. + -ed suffix2, after post-classical Latin disciplinatus (Vulgate), and partly (especially in later use) < discipline v. + -ed suffix1. Compare undisciplined adj.
That has been disciplined (in various senses), esp. by being trained to act in an orderly and effective manner; having or showing discipline; controlled, orderly. Cf. undisciplined adj.Frequently with preceding modifying word, as ill-, well-, etc.; cf. well-disciplined adj.
