Etymology: < dis- prefix 2b(b) + park n. Compare 16th cent. French desparquer (Littré), modern French déparquer , also depark (de- prefix 2b).
1. transitive. To divest of the character of a park; to throw open (park-land), or convert (it) to other uses.
