释义

discouplev.

Brit. /dɪsˈkʌpl/, U.S. /ˌdɪsˈkəp(ə)l/
Forms: late Middle English dyscouple, late Middle English– discouple.
Origin: Formed within English, by derivation; modelled on a French lexical item. Etymons: dis- prefix, couple v.
Etymology: < dis- prefix + couple v., after Anglo-Norman and Middle French descoupler to separate, to uncouple (a1167 in Old French, originally in specific use in hunting in sense ‘to separate (two hounds tied together as a pair) from each other’; French découpler ). Compare post-classical Latin discopulare (of hounds) to unleash (frequently from 12th cent. in British sources), to take apart, dismantle (14th cent. in a British source). Compare earlier uncouple v., discoupling n.
