Etymology: < de- prefix 2b + frost n.
transitive. To unfreeze, remove the frost from; spec. (a) to unfreeze (frozen meat or other provisions); (b) to clear the frost from (e.g. the interior of a refrigerator, the windscreen of a motor vehicle or aircraft). Also absol. and reflexive; occasionally intransitive, to become unfrozen.
