1. The action of decollating or beheading; the fact of being beheaded; spec. in Obstetrics, severance of the head from the body of a fœtus. Feast of the Decollation of St. John the Baptist: a festival in the Roman, Greek, and other Christian churches in commemoration of the beheading of St. John the Baptist, observed on the 29th of August.
