Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin deciduitas.
Etymology: < post-classical Latin deciduitas tendency to decline (1773 or earlier) < classical Latin dēciduus tending to fall, falling (see deciduous adj.) + -tās (see -ty suffix1; compare -ity suffix).
Chiefly Botany. Now rare.
The state of being deciduous; deciduousness.
