Etymology: Apparently a blend of curve n. and vivacious adj., with the second element subsequently remodelled after -aceous suffix.In early use particularly associated with the U.S. film actress Mae West (see Mae West n.); compare:1933 Daily Capital News (Jefferson City, Missouri) 4 June 11/3 A new word has been coined to fit the personality of Mae West... The word is ‘curvacious’ and is a combination of ‘curves’ and ‘vivacious’, two of Miss West's chief characteristics.
