Etymology: < Latin cremor thick juice obtained by steeping, pressure, or decoction, broth, pap (? related to cremāre to burn), and obsolete French cremeur ‘a creamie or milkie disposition or humor’ (Cotgrave), where the sense is apparently influenced by crème cream.
