Etymology: < classical Latin cruci-, combining form (in e.g. Crucisalus , name of a slave, lit. ‘cross-dancer’) of cruc- , crux cross (see cross n.) + verbalist n., after crossword n.
A person who compiles or solves crossword puzzles; a crossword enthusiast.
