2. The action of providing an account or record of property, money, etc., entrusted to one's charge; an account or record so provided. Also: an occasion of giving such an account. In later use chiefly (Scots Law) in count and reckoning, with reference to a legal action whereby an agent may be compelled to provide such an account. Now rare.
