Etymology: Perhaps (i) < agrest adj. or its etymon (ii) classical Latin agrestis + -y suffix3, or perhaps (iii) < French agrestie rusticity, rudeness (1655) < agreste agrest adj. + -ie -y suffix3. Compare earlier agrestic adj., agrestical adj., agrestial adj.
Obsolete. rare. Apparently only attested in dictionaries or glossaries.
