Etymology: see -ing suffix1.Previous versions of the OED give the stress as: conˈsulting.
The action of consult v.; consultation. Also attributive. consulting-desk n. a desk with four inclined sides, to bear books of a large size. consulting room n. a room in which a consultation takes place; esp. the room in which a doctor examines his patients.
