Origin: Probably formed within English, by derivation; originally modelled on a German lexical item. Etymons: conceptualist adj., -ically suffix; conceptualistic adj., -ally suffix.
Etymology: Probably partly (i) < conceptualist adj. + -ically suffix, and partly (ii) < conceptualistic adj. + -ally suffix, originally after German †conceptualistisch (1864 (in the passage translated in quot. 1872) or earlier; now konzeptualistisch ), use as adverb of conceptualistisch , adjective (see conceptualistic adj.).
In a way characteristic of conceptualism or conceptualists; conceptually, in terms of concepts.
