Etymology: < Spanish amotinar to raise in mutiny (1545; earlier in reflexive use amotinarse to become angry (1517), to mutiny (1525); < a- ( < post-classical Latin ad- ad- prefix)) + French mutiner mutine v.
Obsolete. rare.
transitive. To incite (a group of people) to revolt; to rouse to arms.
