A mineral of a pale grey colour and metallic appearance consisting of lead, silver, copper, and bismuth sulphides, originally thought to be a distinct species but later shown to be a mixture of other minerals.

1883 Rep. Director Mint on Precious Metals (U.S. Bureau of Mint) xi. 509 Prof. G. O. Koenig..analyzed some of such ore..and termed it Alaskite, in which the bismuth ran up to 21 per cent.
1927 Amer. Mineralogist 12 21 The alaskaite, which is an argentiferous variety of galeno-bismuthinite, was found in the Saxon mine.
