A direction or invitation to come back; (in earlier use spec.) a sending away, a postponement of attention.In quot. a1610 perhaps with allusion to Proverbs 3 D of the Coverdale Bible (or 3:28 in later editions): ‘Go thy waye & come agayne, tomorow wil I geue the: where as thou hast now to geue him’.
