Origin: Formed within English, by clipping or shortening. Etymons: kidnap n., kidnap v.
Etymology: < -nap (in kidnap n. and kidnap v.). Compare also -napper comb. form, -napping comb. form.Earliest in the late 19th cent. in dognap v. (1898).
