Origin: Formed within English, by compounding. Etymons: aero- comb. form, acrobatics n.
Etymology: < aero- comb. form + -batics (in acrobatics: see acrobatics n.). Compare slightly later aerobatic adj., and also aerobat n.2
With plural agreement: feats of expert aviation, esp. when performed for display; (with singular agreement) the practice of performing such feats. Also in extended use.
