Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: class n., -less suffix.
Etymology: < class n. + -less suffix. Compare German klassenlos (1831 or earlier in sense 1, 1884 (in F. Engels) or earlier in sense 2, in the latter sense frequent in Marxist and other Socialist writings).
1. Showing no obvious signs of belonging to any particular social class; not typically associated with particular social class.
