Software that automatically displays advertising material on a computer, typically in the form of unwanted pop-up windows and banners.Adware is often considered a form of malware as it can be difficult to remove, is frequently installed without a user's knowledge (e.g. when bundled with another, wanted piece of software), and because in collecting personal data such software can also act as spyware.
