A type of thin delicate glove made from very fine lamb, kid, or calf skin; = chicken-skin glove at chicken skin n. 1.Chicken gloves were sometimes made of the skin of unborn calves, giving them a pale, thin, almost transparent quality, perhaps thought to resemble chicken skin. They were believed to lighten and soften the skin of the hands when worn overnight, and were popular esp. in the 18th cent.
