English regional (northern). Of beer: fresh, foaming. Obsolete.

Inclined to fret. Of beer: characterized by fretting or secondary fermentation (see fret, v.1 10, fretting, n.1 2).

Esp. of beer or wine: having an unpleasantly sour, typically sulphurous, odour or flavour, resulting from exposure to light. Cf. skunked, adj. 2.

Of beer: spoiled, esp. by direct exposure to light which results in an unpleasantly sour taste and smell.
