单词 champian
释义

champianchampionn.adj.

Forms: In 1500s -yon, 1500s–1700s -ion, -ian.
Etymology: A variant of champaign n. and adj., champain n., found as an attributive or adjective form in Ld. Berners, early in 16th cent., and towards the end of that century also as a noun; during the 17th cent. it was much more frequent in both uses than champagne . Champyon , -ion , was the earlier form; champian was perhaps assimilated to adjectives and nouns in -ian suffix.
Obsolete.
