Etymology: < classical Latin cāseus cheese (see caseous adj.) + -form comb. form², after French caséiforme (1542 in Rabelais in Middle French; 1801 in the passage translated in quot. 1804). Compare post-classical Latin caseiformis (1652 or earlier). N.E.D. (1888) gives the pronunciation as (kēⁱ·siˌifǭɹm) /ˈkeɪsiːɪfɔːm/.

Chiefly Medicine. Now rare.

Resembling cheese; spec. of the nature of or resembling the caseous matter characteristic of tuberculosis.
