1. Zoology. A marine bryozoan of or formerly of the genus Cellepora (family Celleporidae), having crowded zooecia that consist of calcareous vase-like chambers with a beak on one or both sides, and also found commonly as Tertiary and Quaternary fossils. Now rare.
